What does Jesus desire for His Church?

In John 17, just before the cross, Jesus prayed for His followers—and His prayer gives us a powerful picture of what His Church is called to be.

Beginning Sunday, August 30, Pastor Justin will lead us through a new four-week sermon series, ONE: Jesus’ Prayer for His Church.

Over these four Sundays, we’ll explore four important themes from Jesus’ prayer:

August 30 — TRUTH: Under the Word

Our unity begins by submitting ourselves to the truth God has revealed in Scripture.

September 6 — HOLINESS: Changed by the Spirit

God’s grace does more than forgive us; the Holy Spirit transforms us to become more like Jesus.

September 13 — LOVE: Making Room for One Another

Jesus calls genuinely different people to belong to and love one another as one body.

September 20 — MISSION: So the World May Believe

Jesus makes us one so that together we can show the world who He is.

Jesus didn’t pray that His Church would all look the same, think the same, or have the same preferences. He prayed that we would be ONE in Him—grounded in truth, transformed by His Spirit, united in love, and sent into the world with a mission.

“That all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you.” — John 17:21
